As most of you know from my constant monologues I started this channel pretty much on a whim, never expecting it to amount to much. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually have an audience. Now that we’ve grown as a community to over 500 members it’s time for me to really start thinking about what types of games I’ll play.
I’ve always been drawn to open world styles of games, though I still enjoy some rails-y games like Far Cry that are pseudo-open-world. There is a whole new genre of open world survival crafting games which really suit my play style and based on my own thoughts and the great feedback I’ve gotten I have decided that is what I need to focus on.
So what does this mean? I’ll not be completing Dying Light or Far Cry 4 on camera (though I may post a couple more video highlights, depending).
I will be focusing heavily on 7 Days to Die which is my bread and butter, with another new series coming where I highlight builds and adventures on the community server in A11.
I’ll be playing the following games regularly:
- 7 Days to Die
- Long Dark
- Stranded Deep
I’ll also be exploring some other indie survival games that are coming such as:
- Savage Lands
- Survive the night
- Son of Nature
- Life is Feudal (if it gets–or can be modded to be–faster!)
- couple of other games that I’ve backed on Kickstarter like Empyrion and Kona.
And yes, I’ll also be doing one-off or short plays of other games as they interest me. But I’m going to avoid the big AAA games. It’s not me, they don’t fit the playstyle I can pull off while giving 50% of my attention to what I’m trying to say, or trying to play in a way that I think you’ll enjoy.
There will be games that I get into initially that I think are interesting then as I discover more about them I’ll just say “meh”, like Hot Tin Roof. I’ll probably finish that one because I like parts of it, but I do think I’ll stop completely blind Let’s Plays for the most part.
I also may explore old things made fresh. With my new uber pc I’d love to go back to Skyrim with a total conversion pack of mods, ultra graphics, and play the game fresh. I was thinking the other night that I’d like to play a completely ‘passive’ game, letting my hirelings do all the killing while I play the game as a cleric/healer and explore the world without doing ANY of the main story quests. Could be fun. No dragons, just exploration and helping folks I come across.
Anyway, let me know what you think the in the comments below
